It is on my heart that Toby's life will always be engraved
"Dear Lord, I sent you a precious gift today - my beloved dog, Toby. He was a sweet and gentle soul and such a huge part of my lfe and family for 17 marvellous years - a truly wonderful animal, who loved everyone.
I tried so hard to nurse him back to health - and he fought so hard to stay on this earth. But the years were against him, and the vet told me it was time to let him go. Thank you Lord for granting me the strength to give him to you now. It's been a heartbreaking decision, but I couldn't bear to see him suffering any longer.
We said our final goodbye to him at home - and as he died peacefully in my arms, surrounded by love, I cried tears of sorrow and of joy. Sorrow at the intense grief of losing such a faithful friend, but a real joy for the memories in my heart and the relief that he was at last free of pain.
I take great comfort in knowing that Toby has now crossed the 'Rainbow Bridge' into a happy place. And I hope that he's welcomed by the spirits of all the people and animals who loved him during his happy life.
Thank you Lord for the gift of my Toby's life and love."
