LANEY

"Laney was a Dalmation (liver & white).

She was put to sleep Monday 01 09 08.

She had been in my life for 13 yrs & 3 months.

For the last 12 months she had started to decline with arthritis, with muscle wastage on her hind quarters, causing severe nerve damage (losing control of her bowels) while asleep, also a heart murmur was detected in the last few weeks and medication just wasn't helping.

I had to decide do I do the right thing or the wrong? Either way my loss had started. I chose to do the right thing by her and let her go.

That was the hardest decision of my life and everyday I get in from work I weep like a lost child. She is still here through hairs, smell, toys . . . etc. I just hope she understands that she was pretty old for a Dally at 13, and that I didn't want to see her suffer anymore than she was. I have posted a picture (above) taken just as Summer started, hence the garden rubbish in the background, but it shows her looking really well, unlike my last images."

"To my Beautiful Crazy Laney (AKA "Moose")

"How I miss our times together, the gentle squeaky bark as the lock turned in the door when I arrived home from work, the way you ran to greet me, tail wagging and that look of "where have you been?" in your eyes along with have you bought me treats? Followed by the gentle howl you always made with tail wagging and head bobbing! My God, I never thought the day would come when you wasn't there for me anymore? My home is so, so empty now like my heart now you have gone . . . . . . if only I had more time with you? . . . . . . But you grew old my poor baby and although not to the point of suffering I had to do the right thing by you . . . Not me? I pray and hope you understand this my best friend and take comfort in knowing just how much I truly loved you.

God Bless You Pup x x x"
